Please remember:
- We are meeting again in the library tomorrow.
- You will take the Mock STAAR in the MPR on Monday. Please come there directly at 7:25 – you will miss periods 1, 2, 3, and 4. This assessment will count for two major grades.
Wednesday, February 3
In class today, we introduced the Hero Research Project (Heroes Research Project). Students completed a notes page (Quotations Handout Notes Page)Β on the quotations handout (Quotations Handout). Please see the new tab that I put on the menu for examples of finished products from last year.
Tuesday, February 2
Periods 1 and 3 finished up reading The Count of Monte Cristo in class today, while period 4 attended the special Leakey Foundation lecture on the origins of tuberculosis.
No additional homework for tonight – please just make sure your last reading guide is done. By “done,” I mean, “done by you” – as in, “not copied from a friend.”
Some items to remember:
- Please bring your laptops tomorrow, and on every day over the next two weeks as we work on a major research project.
- We’ll be meeting at the library on Thursday – go there instead of the classroom.
- You have your mock STAAR on Monday – meet in the MPR. We’ll talk more about this later.
Monday, February 1
Students took their vocabulary quiz over The Black Count today. If you were absent, please come make it up on Friday during lunch tutorials.
The substitute also passed out your final CMC Reading Guide! Here it is:Β CMC Reading Guide 10. This was originally supposed to be due on Tuesday, but I’m going to extend the deadline until Wednesday. Please put the word out to your friends via social media, since I didn’t get to tell you all in class today.
And fourth period – remember to meet at the MPR tomorrow for class!
