Count Dracula begins his voyage to England in this chapter on board the Demeter, a Russian schooner. Here’s what that ship might have looked like:

And here’s a map that shows the route that they took (it looks like a student made this for a class project!):

As you can see, it would have been a long, long voyage.

The ship’s journey is a pretty interesting story all by itself. In fact, for a time there were plans to make a film entirely about that trip called “The Last Voyage of the Demeter,” but it looks as though the production has been delayed.
